European HST Archive AT ESA/ESAC

Welcome to the European Hubble Space Telescope (EHST) archive

The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is a joint mission between the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA). Launched in 1990, the HST remains the premier UV and visible light telescope in orbit. With well over 1.5 million exposures from 10 different scientific instruments, the HST archive is a treasure trove of astronomical data to be exploited. The HST archive at ESAC (eHST) is developed and maintained by the ESAC Science Data Centre (ESDC) and offers the following features:

  • Direct access to all public HST data in calibrated and science-ready form.
  • All HST observations are synchronised with the MAST services for HST reprocessed public data and corresponding metadata.
  • All data is constantly revised and served with the newest calibration methods and reference files applied.
  • We offer an instant anonymous download method to all data which can be used programmatically.
  • Additionally, access to Hubble Legacy Archive data and the Hubble Source Catalog.
  • VO interfaces with access to the newest data.

You can access the eHST Archive to search for and retrieve all public data observed by HST since its launch to today:

Services and data holdings are maintained in collaboration with the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) and the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre (CADC).
