We are excited to announce that the European Space Astronomy Center (ESAC), the Spanish site of the European Space Agency (ESA), will host the Natural Language Processing for Space Science Workshop from Monday 9 September to Friday 13 September 2024. We will start with two days of presentations and conversations about the status of NLP in Space Science, which will be followed by three engaging hack days, where participants will work hands-on collaboratively on projects. 

This workshop is organised in collaboration with UniverseTBD and plans to reunite experts and enthusiasts in using Natural Language Processing in Space Sciences and Astronomy. The focus of the meeting is to explore the potential of large language models in our field and work collaboratively on topics of common interest. The first two and a half days of the workshop (presentations) will allow remote attendance; the following three days of the event (hack days) will be in-person only.
