Anne Grete Straume-Lindner - Personal Profiles
Anne Grete Straume-Lindner
Envision Project Scientist
Main Research Fields
Anne Grete Straume obtained her PhD in meteorology at the University of Bergen on the topic of uncertainties in trace gas transport modelling due to weather forecast errors. After her PhD, she worked as a scientist at several Dutch research instututes, where her work spanned the areas of atmospheric composition and dynamics modelling, the impact of different ozone distributions on stratospheric dynamics, and validation of green house gas observations by the UV, visible and near-infrared spectrometer SCIAMACHY onboard the Envisat satellite. In 2004 she joined ESA, and worked as ESA mission scientist for the worlds first space-based Doppler wind lidar - Aeolus - between 2004 and 2022, supporting its scientific preparations, development, launch, calibration and validation, and scientific exploitation. She also initiated and performed R&D activities in the area of remote sensing of atmospheric composition, aerosol and surface reclectivity.
Her main research fields are UV, optical and near-infrared Earth and planetary atmosphere remote sensing. For EnVision, she also supports radar remote sensing (SAR, radiometry, altimetry and subsurface sounding), radioscience, geodesy, geophysics and geology.
