ESLAB #53 Home - 53rd ESLAB Symposium
Gaia Data Release 2 took place on 25 April 2018. The scientific community has since used the data intensively exploring topics ranging from the Solar System to quasars. In the first months after the release, hundreds of publications using Gaia DR2 data have appeared. By April 2019, one year after the Gaia Data Release 2, a wealth of studies using Gaia data have been completed. This is an excellent time to see the progress made with the Gaia data. The 53rd ESLAB symposium "The Gaia Universe", held at ESTEC (Noordwijk, The Netherlands) from 8 to 12 April 2019, covered all research areas addressed by Gaia and gave a nice overview of the progress made in the various fields of astronomy.
The programme of the 53rd ESLAB symposium can be found here with links to the abstracts for further reading. Invited talks were given by Tristan Cantat-Gaudin, Cristina Chiappini, Ludovic Delchambre, Josef Ďurech, Jacqueline Faherty, Amina Helmi and Pier-Emmanuel Tremblay.
