The CHaracterising ExOPlanet Satellite (CHEOPS) is a small mission in the ESA Science Programme, dedicated to the search for transits of exoplanets using ultrahigh precision photometry on bright stars already known to host planets, and implemented in partnership with a nationally funded consortium led by Switzerland.

CHEOPS was launched on 18 December 2019, with the end of the nominal science operations phase occurring on 24 September 2023. A first extension to the mission operations to 31 December 2026 has been confirmed and an indicative second extension to 31 December 2029 has also been given.

Through the present Call, the ESA Director of Science invites scientists based in ESA Member States, and not already involved in the mission, to apply for membership of the CHEOPS Science Team. The duties and rights applicable to members of the CHEOPS Science Team are indicated in the Announcement of Opportunity for Membership of the CHEOPS Science Team document.

A maximum of five members will be appointed through the present AO. Each ESA-appointed member of the CHEOPS Science Team can, in addition to themselves, nominate a collaborator. See the Announcement of Opportunity for Membership of the CHEOPS Science Team document for further details.
