Changes in GAIA DPAC EXECUTIVE

Group picture taken at the Gaia DPAC Executive Board Meeting #29 at Segovia

Over the past year, there were some changes to the DPAC Executive board. At the recent DPAC Executive meeting in Segovia, a new group picture was taken as shown above. Meet the new DPAC Executive board members. On the picture above you see from left to right, top row: Laurent Eyer, Dimitri Pourbaix, Antonella Vallenari, Chantal Panem, Uwe Lammers (Science Operations Manager), Orlagh Creevey, Fred Jansen (Mission Manager), Carine Babusiaux, Timo Prusti (Project Scientist), Dafydd Wyn Evans and Paola Sartoretti. Dafydd Wyn Evans took over the role of manager of CU5 (Photometric Processing) from Floor van Leeuwen. Then for CU8, the coordination unit in charge of astrophysical parameters, Orlagh Creevey took over from Coryn Bailer-Jones.

On the picture, from left to right, one finds in the bottom row: Gonzalo Gracia (DPAC Project Coordinator), Alexander Hutton, Xavier Luri, Anthony Brown and Michael Biermann. Alexander Hutton replaced Hassan Siddiqui as the manager of CU1, the coordination unit responsible for the system architecture.

The DPAC Executive, also referred to as DPACE, oversees the day to day DPAC activities and contains representatives of each Coordination Unit and a representative of the Data Processing Centres. A page detailing the structure and task of DPACE is available here. Currently the DPACE consists of:
